For the past seven years, the UK Paintball Industry have held an end of season awards ceremony to recognise those who have contributed to the game over the course of a season.
The evening is a formal black tie and ball gown event and the Awards themselves are presented after a three course dinner and before the disco.
The Awards event is the only occassion in the calendar where players, event organisers, site owners, retailers, distributors and manufacturers all get to spend time together in a social situation.
But its not all paintball paintball paintball.....many of those attending are accompanied by their partners which gives the non-paintball people a chance to put the odd face to a name.
Throughout the year a voting system is in place on this website where players can vote and grade events. Later in the year, nominations for fellow players and teams for inclusion on the Awards shortlists will be opened.
The shortlists are published one month before the event takes place and everyone has an opportunity to vote and contribute. These votes are then collated and varified before the winners are determined.
Anyone who is short listed is encouraged to attend the ceremony on the night where the winner from the shortlist will be announced.
The voting process is overseen by the Annual Awards Chairman Ian 'Cambo' Richardson who is also the host on the night. Each award winner is announced and presented by a key paintball industry personality.
After all the formalities of dinner and the Awards are out of the way, it's time for everyone to relax and let their hair down. Whether having a drink and a chat is your thing, or dancing until the small hours, there are usually plenty of stories doing the rounds after 'Awards Night'!!!!
